It’s rarely happens with me to go to the cinema to watch an Arabic movie unless the actor is Adel Emam. This time my friends were heading to watch an Arabic movie called Al-Jazira and offered me to join them, the only thing that I knew about it that Ahmad Al Saqa is the star of the movie; He’s a good actor but still in our Arab world the budgets are not enough to produce a good action movie. Although I was like go with the flow.
The movie started to play at the cinema; definitely it wouldn’t get my attention before the first 15 minutes of it. Well, the suspense started to grab my attention and it became like I’m watching an American action movie but in an Egyptian – Saeedy language. What I knew later; that Al-Jazira is based on a true story happened at Al Saeed – Egypt.
Al Jazira is an amazing movie from all aspects; acting, shooting, directing, audio… etc. the production is done by three companies, definitely one of the most important factors to make a successful movie. Ahmad Al Saqa and the stars did a great job; it was really a perfect 150 minutes movie and one of the few that I’m willing to watch again.
