Sometimes I feel like I care about people more that caring about myself. I always wanted to do something that keeps my touch in the society and I’m still trying.
Few months ago, I was talking to a lot of people about volunteering and how much we lack volunteers in Jordan. Most of them was like “yes, you are right. We hope to find somewhere to volunteer at”. I thought that it might be the miscommunication between the organizations that need the volunteers and the volunteers themselves. So I started to look around for those firms that need the volunteers in order to organize information so I will be able to get back to people with some helpful information.
From an organization to another, I contacted them and promised them that I’m the one who will be able to occupy your volunteering opportunities. But it was extremely embarrassing when I figured out that 90% of the people, who were talking about their interest in volunteering, they were only doing some sort of show off; “we are the ones who help people and develop the society”. Before figuring out this disaster I have decided to work on the first volunteering website in Jordan so people will be able to find the best place to volunteer! I need you people to tell me, is it worth it to work on such a website? Or it will be one of those websites that get around 10-15 hits a day by mistake?!
