Entertain your users – RailsConf Europe – Day 2

Filed under: Life, Technology — Kamel Al-Asmar @ 11:51 pm

Day 2 for the sessions was the last day for RailsConf Europe – Berlin 08, the long waited session that is titled design for usability has begun after the first session. The speaker’s notes with all of the helpful information for a usability specialist or a web designer had a very essential tip that the usability is all about; Entertain Your User. That sentence was good enough to deliver the most important factor of usability and user experience.

Back to RESTful, I attended the session “Advanced Restful Rails” as it completes the 1st day’s session: RESTful everything. Then I moved to a stand up comedy show done by Justin Gehtland from Relevance Inc. He was talking about the apps that have a good front end and a diastral back end. Justin was very funny and I loved that session a lot.

Click to Globalize, an extension for globalize plug-in. I was curios to get more information about anything related to the globalization of Rails Apps as it’s very related to one of the projects I’m working on.

The lat 2 sessions has a lot of details about more advanced subjects that are related more to ruby than rails.

Overall, it was an amazing experience that I could benefit from big time.
