The World’s Most Influential Arabs

A list titled (Power 100, The World’s Most Influential Arab, Rank list of 2008) has been published on Arabian Business website. I was taking a look on the list but there are some comments from my side on it:

The name of my favorite Lebanese director “Nadine Labaki” is there in the 5th place. Nadine, the director, was the director of 2 of the most successful movies in the Arab world. “Al-Bosta” and “Caramel – Sokar Banat” in addition to the amazing music videos she has done for the artists especially Nawal Al-Zoghbi’s one “B-3ainak”.

Fairouz, the legend of the Lebanese and Arabic art, is in the 76th place! I could skip it if I haven’t seen Elissa’s name in the 38th place. Do you think that the singer who we start our morning listening to her angelic voice has less influence than Elissa who appeared in the catastrophic TV promotion of L’azurde jewelries?! And it’s not about Elissa only; Amr Diab with the 24th ranking is there and Nancy Ajram in the 60th place.

I was proud to read the name of Emad Hajaj in the list. Elie Saeb was there too in the 9th place.

The paradox is “Where is Osama Bin Laden”? Aren’t we the Arabs who are the source of the terrorism in the World, and Osama Bin Laden is the one who invented the terrorism? I was trying to find his name, but unfortunately it wasn’t there.

Most of the other names are unknown for me, or I have nothing to say about them.

  1. My point of view may differ from the other’s, but anyway I have may things to say on this subject. First, everything here is true. Second, check the information first, then comment it
