They’ve STOLE Natalie’s work!

Filed under: Arts, Life — Kamel Al-Asmar @ 11:35 am

Natalie Hijazi, our amazing artist, drew a a black ribbon as a small tribute for Gaza.

This month’s issue of W2GO guide has the same ribbon with the logo with one difference:

Simply they removed Natalie’s signature from the ribbon as they are the artists who drew it! I don’t think that we are in a counrty that reserves Natalie’s rights. So the only thing that I could do is to say that it’s unethical at all to take a credits of something that belongs to someone else.

When she added the image to facebook she said “feel free to use it”, but not feel free to edit it before using it.

Precisely! Luckily I don’t mind; this ribbon is dedicated to Gaza and therefore I have not declared it as an exclusively personal image, but the editing and removal of my name was an unprofessional, unjust move. I actually spoke to their manager about it though and we had a good laugh. On the bright side: More attention to Gaza.

HOWEVER: Touch my illustrations or jewelry… and you’d probably lose a couple of limbs ;)
