I think that our telecommunications companies are not aware of the importance of the internet for us nowadays! Last night I went back home while it was raining heavily, I opened my laptop and tried to open gmail to check my email! it wasn’t more than 10 minutes before I lost my internet connection!
The routine procedure to get the internet back, I restarted the modem and made sure that I have all of the indicators on it lighting (the monkey learning advice I always get from the technical support), waited for the router to connect again. I could see the IP address; which means that I should have a connection at that stage! Unfortunately, I couldn’t browse any website. After 20 minutes of waiting to get in touch with one of the technical support members of Zain, as usual, I realized that it was our amazing telecommunication company’s (Orange) problem. It wasn’t only me; a lot of areas lost the connection because of the rain. I do remember last summer I have been disconnected because of the hot weather! No one knows under what circumstances Orange’s connection works ideally!
We were living for the last couple of months without rain and already had a very bad internet connection. Orange, the biggest telecommunications company in Jordan is not prepared to take the amount of rain that we saw last night, apparently their devices are not water resistant! I don’t know what to say more, but my work from A-Z depends on internet, shall I leave it and stay at home watching movies until we get a reliable company that offer a reliable internet connection! I swear to GOD that internet is not one of our extras, it’s one of the basics that we can’t live without. Akhtaboot.com, Jawaker.com and any of Boundless‘ products wouldn’t be there if we don’t have internet. My job title is Senior WEB Developer, WEB means internet!
I think that this issue should be reconsidered not by Orange as a company, but by the government itself. It became a serious problem that we can’t stand anymore. From my end, I’m going to do anything to start a campaign against that company to let them know that without the satisfaction of their customers, they are worth NOTHING!

I am SO with you in your campaign!
