You need to a flashplayer enabled browser to view this YouTube video

The insulting cartoons of prophet Mohammad in Denmark caused a lot of problems for a long time. This time it was different.

In the Arab world we used to hear about blocked websites that we can’t get into, but I never thought that I won’t be able to get into youtube.com one day. In Pakistan because of the insulting cartoons of prophet Mohammad that are being published on youtube; the Pakistani government decided to block youtube in Pakistan! What happened was really weird, the Pakistani telecommunication company decided to redirect all of the people who are trying to get into youtube to another address that has nothing on it. Well, what happened exactly that the action redirected anyone in the world to that address for 2 hours so people globally couldn’t access youtube. Google (the owner of Youtube) claimed that the reason was not the Pakistani action, but the next day they admit that it was.

Enjoy watching the report from BBC about this issue.
